A love note to myself

Dear Future Self,

I sit here, buzzing with positive energy and inspiration.

The future seems bright. I feel like I am fully plugged into my power source, and that I finally see myself for who I am. I feel competent, equipped and as if I am about to step into a plane that’s taking me on a wonderful adventure. I feel like nothing can stop me and that everything is working with me.

I feel at peace and my natural state of joy is shining through. There is no comparison. There is no lack. There is no fear.

Recently I realize, the point of it all is to remain peaceful and present. I realize I am so capable, and that it’s only my thoughts that get in my way of being able to express that. The amount of things I’ve created lately because I’ve had the freedom in both time and mental capacity to say yes to my musings.

I don’t have outward demands at the moment aside from the ones I’ve said yes to, because I am unemployed. My schedule is my full control. And that has been a beautiful thing. I know this liminal space will come to a close and that my world will resume, but I would love to leave you with a bit of a place you can come back to to be reminded, when you feel like you are losing your way.

The first most important thing, do what you can to feel calm in your body. Right now, I am avoiding coffee and alcohol. That is impacting my sleep in a lovely way. It’s also slightly adjusting my habits. As an example, Berin and I went bowling instead of for a cocktail last weekend. If you find yourself back with the stimulants and depressants, and feeling low, perhaps consider another break!

The second most important thing, follow your daily practices with reference and diligence. The daily sadhana is such a beautifully supportive practice. It invites a sense of presence. It invites the stacking of good habits. At the moment, it’s looking like a 15 minute Subagh Kriya, and then 20 minutes of reiki. Protect your spiritual time. It is SO important. Every moment can be a spiritual moment.

The third most important thing, connect often with your intuition. It doesn’t take much, just a couple of deep breaths to go inward and then you are there. This is your greatest gift, and your best ally. If you don’t know what to do, spend time going inward until you have a way forward. The steps before are important so that you are calm.

The fourth most important thing, connect with God. This is a new one but it is powerful. Surrender any sort of negative thoughts to a higher power and let it go. Problems cannot be solved on the same problem that they are created. And all problems are created via the ego, so rise above.

The fifth most important thing, use your skills for your own musings! So much of your life has spent operating for others. You have a lot of magnificent ideas, you owe it to yourself and the world to spend some time putting them out there.

The sixth most important thing, use your emotions to guide you. If you are feeling any sort of negative emotion, it is worth pausing for a bit. If you are feeling positive emotions, keep it up.

The seventh most important thing, remember your calling. Remember why you are here. Do your work diligently.

I could go on and on, but I will stop here. My final remark to you is this: the phase where you dull your light to fit in is over. It was serving no one, especially not you. The magic in your existence will multiply as you learn to honour yourself in every moment. And so, if you ever find yourself feeling lacklustre, I invite you to remember these important things that could offer some direction to get you back.

Lots of love,

Xo, C
